Rumoured Red Dead Redemption PC release finally gets confirmed

Posted 8th October 2024

There's been talks for a while now surrounding some form of port of the original Red Dead Redemption, which originally launched on the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 back in 2010, to the PC. While there were some ways of being able to play the award-winning western in the past on PC, such as through Playstation's streaming service "Playstation Now", it was typically a bad experience overall with many bugs from the original game. So PC gamers have been waiting a while to be able to play the original title after getting a taste for the franchise with Red Dead Redemption 2's release onto the platform in 2019.

Well the rumours have finally been confirmed with Rockstar announcing the PC port with "a host of PC-specific features, including native 4k resolution, Ultrawide and Super Ultrawide monitor support, and much more" on their X account today.

It will launch on Steam on the 29th October with a price tag of £39.99. It includes the single player story and Undead Nightmare, as well as some extra bonus content from the Game of the Year Edition. It does not include multiplayer, however. You can pre-purchase the game on Steam now.
